You'd be eligible for those points even if you got your degree after joining.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 17 at 2020 1:16 PM2020-09-17T13:16:24-04:002020-09-17T13:16:24-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6319428

AR 600-8-19 Enlisted Promotions and Reductions, 3-19 Civilian Education

You should get points for any post-high school education. Once your transcripts are turned in to education, they will update your ERB and submit a copy to your iPerms. Your promotion points for civilian education will then be pulled from your transcript or these sources. I've never heard of anyone looking at the year you graduated vs your BASD/PESD to try to reduce someone's points.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 17 at 2020 1:19 PM2020-09-17T13:19:09-04:002020-09-17T13:19:09-04:00SGT Joseph Gunderson6319751

Yes, you're maxed out. That’s what I did back in the 1990s. The recruiter uploaded my transcripts to my enlistment packet and dare I say the rest is history.

Have you checked iPERMS to see if your college transcript is in there with your enlistment paperwork?

If it’s in there, then why does your S1 need your transcripts if your recruiter and/or MEPS already did it.

If I’m wrong in my assumption let me know.

Things may have changed in the past 25 years give or take a few.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 17 at 2020 8:40 PM2020-09-17T20:40:34-04:002020-09-17T20:40:34-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6322588

Yes. Your civilian education points count no matter when you got the degree.

I came in as a SPC in 2004 with a Bachelor's and my civilian ed was maxed out the entire time I've been in. Now I have two Master's along with that degree.

I don't know why you're S1 is giving conflicting answers. They just need to see your transcripts to add it to your ERB. That's it.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 18 at 2020 1:03 PM2020-09-18T13:03:53-04:002020-09-18T13:03:53-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member6324250

I am in the same spot!
