An example would be if you are pretty much tied for being selected for WOC, they would look for something that separates the two applicants.

Don't let anything we say hold you back. The worse thing that can happen is they say no. So apply. If they can look at it, the comments in Block 14 would be of interest, not so much as the course itself given it's age, but rather what's your current capability and the likelihood you'll do well in the billets you're requesting or in the Warrant side, will you be a good Warrant. Do other 1059s seem to depict the WLC as an anomaly from way back when? You can scrounge around to see if former board sitters or assignors have any tilt on it, but it might not be any more clear. If everyone who got zinged by one marginal piece of paper from way back when, most of the force would be gone by now. Interesting thing, paperwork in service jackets document results and are benign unless there's a Reg that requires some action to be taken, usually a negative action. We'd never see info like a 1058 equivalent in the Navy boards. We're restricted to pedigree info (you passed), Evals, awards, etc. and a very very limited list of disqualifying stuff. And we'd seldom see that either as it usually gets pulled by the staff prior to board convening. Bottom line, consider not overprocessing it. Are you saying that an SDA will hurt you? SDAs are good for anyone's career, especially for non-Combat Arms soldiers who usually have fewer opportunities to branch outside their MOS to get that "well rounded" thing boards like. Your marginal 1059 will be considered, but boards things you did as an E-5 have a lot less weight the further you move up. Every individual has a dip in some area. As long as its not consistent it is understandable. As far as going Warrant it should not interfere because you did pass. What they will judge will be "did he learn and improve?" Your other 1059's will show that and also your NCOER's will tell them what kind of NCO you are. What they want is Soldiers who learn from their past and drive hard to improve. I can only see where it would hurt is if there is a choice between you and another and everything is equal and the only difference will be that 1059. So I would not worry to much about it as long as you continue to improve on yourself and strive for perfection in your career. You've had better before and since, and the Army takes into account that sometimes are just $hit raters out there or that you sometimes have an off period. As long as the marginal performance is not consistent and repetitive. The consistent good and the showing of learning and improving since, outweigh and overshadow the one instance of marginal.

I have seen SM's with way worse apply for and get Warrant and other things.
