I got my waiver from the company commander. What are the chances the BN commander says no?

No article 15's just dumb stuff 28 year old privates do.., not shaving, leaving wall locker unsecured, showing up late. I've been trying for a year finally got a company waiver just scared the BN will turn me down..what are the chances?

gotta be more than just that to be barred or flagged or denied re enlistment. As for the BN Commander to deny the waiver, I think he will rely on what your Commander and NCO's recommend - Unless he has reason to remember you personally.

I had similar cases on the Navy/Seabee side as a Skipper. The thread meanders around a lot, infers a lot, but doesn't focus on The Decision. From a Skipper perspective, I'd lean into the CoC with four questions. Is the SM recoverable? Is it worth the recovery effort? What are the odds of success? What's the plan for doing with/without? Whenever you hear this "good of the service" blah blah, it really translates into a business decision. Is it better to move on with or without? Remember, the Skipper is making two decisions. One is about you. The other is about his/her CoC. I had a E-8 NCO (to this day never considered him a Senior Chief) who'd promise the world but was an ineffective slug. Although I was sorta OK about the sailor, I had no confidence he could bring it off. Again, a business decision. So it's just not only about you. Remember you are fully accountable for yourself. You cannot control much of the external dynamic although you can influence it. So timing, circumstance, and luck can work for or against you. Regardless, always make sure you are moving forward along a good moral compass line. Bumps will occur, but you'll get there. Don't presume you know what the true "there" is.

I guess I don't understand the question... waiver for what? Waiver to reenlist? Is your window already open? What's your TIS? Get an article 15 before?

Usually if the CO signs off on it....the BN Com will too...They usually trust the CO since they know your record best. Just be sure to be the best you can be from here on out and don't make the CO regret pushing that waiver through. If you do...you will have to probably have to PCS to start over possibly.

That sounds more like stuff an 18 year old Private would do. I would have thought your age would have had some bearing on your maturity level, regardless of your rank. Sounds like you have some professional "growing up" to do.

Edit: Oh, I just saw that you're 18. Makes more sense, but the last part still applies only you can add "growing up in general" to it.

Not to knock you, but you sound as if you think it's acceptable for a 28-year old to be doing dumb stuff. I think most of the population, civilian or military, is going to think that most 28-year-olds have left their dumb phase behind. EDIT: I see you corrected it to 18 in another post. That's much more 'acceptable', as much as doing dumb stuff is. Good luck with your waiver, and if you get it, don't blow the chance. What you have is immeasurably precious.
