I already signed my 4707 and I’m wondering how long it will take before I leave I am currently a holdover. I Had to reclass due to Injury as 11B to 42A What will the process be like? 2019-11-25T17:38:48-05:00 PFC Private RallyPoint Member 5275168

I’m in the National Guard and I suffered a fractured hip in training during my 11B AIT a couple months ago and I have to reclass as an 42A does anyone know what the process is like and what my timetable is before I get to my new unit for AIT? This time can vary from a couple days to a couple months. Additionally, if you haven't been medically cleared from your OSUT injury, this could also affect the processing time. You need to focus on a full recovery from your injury. No shortcuts!!!!
2. Not sure how the NG tackle the issue but do not get released from active duty unless a full care package is in place. Remember, you left the MEPS 100% fit and healthy.
3. Your next MOS training will required you to be fully recovered.
4. Talking about reclassifying, is 42A offered to you by your unit?
5. Kemohsabee (kemosabe) does not mean friend! At least that’s what my grandfather taught my mother.

Jon, focus on rehab. Depending on how far you are in treatment, your focus should be on a steady gait (walk). You need to build strength and be able to participate in an alternate exercise for PT. Worry about walking. And if you are board, take some typing classes. Study document structures and knowing how to navigate through the regs. Those are things you can do while you are in rehab.

As a civilian medical professional, focus on getting better. A pool works great! Aquatic exercise hurt less and takes much of the weight off the lower body.

As for personal admin, just be detail oriented and improve processes.
