I am just curious beforehand if anyone has any experience. I believe they will take prior service up to age 59 as long as that will allow them 20 total years TIS. The basic rule is that you have to be able to complete 20 years of service before you reach age 60. If I am doing the math correctly, you will only have 19 years total by the time you reach 60. This age is altered w/ time in service. Now, I&#39;ve also been told that there is a waiver for just about everything, and the Reg that was keeping me from having an easy re-entry into the Air Guard was changed in Oct, allowing me to, most likely, get back in (I turn 40 in 2.5 weeks). You could discuss going to the Warrant Officer program, those have age waivers especially for Cyber or other critical areas. Not sure what you are targeting.<br />You may want to hedge your bet and go for the blended retirement program, I know you are targeting the 20 year plan.
