I have 5 months on my post 9-11 GI Bill. I am enrolled for the fall. Will my benefits be cut off on 9/7/20 as my benefit form says?

I have 5 months of benefits remaining on my post 9-11GI Bill. I have been actively pursuing an Associates Degree in English since January. I am currently in a summer course and am registered for fall courses. There is an expiration date on my benefits of Sep 7, 2020. Will my benefits be cut off on that date, even though I am already enrolled and have months remaining?

It sounds like you are asking whether you will get your tuition paid for through the fall semester and whether you'd get BAH. The short answer is: the VA will pay for the fall semester in full up front regardless if your GI Bill runs out 9/7 (assuming the semester is starting before then), and provided you meet all the BAH requirements, you should receive BAH through the whole semester.

there are grants out there. there is one to apply for if you are 180 days of losing your benifits. It's the STEM grant, you'd qualify if you are trying to become a teacher with your English study. Go to VA.org and look under Ed benifits. Also start your Voc Rehab within 1 month of loosing your benifits if you are more than 20% disabled, don't let it run out. good luck on that though-they deny a lot! There is also VET TECH for teachers.

Have you checked with the VA, or possibly personnel at your former duty site ma'am to see if you can get an extension?
