I was young and stupid when i first joined the navy and i recieved an re-4 re-enlistment code at separation. I would like to re-enlist to fulfill the obligation i was too childish to get through before is there any realistic chance of me getting back in with any branch

The best option is to talk to a recruiter. All recruiters. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and the National Guard. Find a recruiter that's willing to listen to you and fight for you attempting to get back into the service. The worst thing that can tell you is no.

AN Dylan Kreidler recommend you re-tag your discussion With Re Code as a topic (link attached). There are resources on RE Codes, discharge upgrades, and links to the hundreds of discussions on this topic. The abridged version is above from SSgt (Join to see) , go find a recruiter. You will be asked for documentation depending on what your Separation disposition Code is (three letters on your 214). Recruiters initiate waivers but they don't approve them.

You have one shot: appeal to your service's board of corrections for military records and ask for a character of discharge upgrade. It's a long shot but it's the only one you have. RE-4 is non-waivable.
