No you dont have to give it up, I have been retired for 23 years, and had it as my primary provider up until 2 years ago when I Changed over to Medicare, and tricare for life as the secondary payer. I fought over the conversion to tricare when it first cane out as I was in the retirement mode at that time, and they laid that out to us at our retirement out brief at Ft McCellan, AL. 15 years I took it out. Keep it, one Isg to another, you won't regret it.

Yes sgt u can. U have pay for it. U can go to the the tricare website and get more info. I believe if u keep it it will change from tricare active to remote.
