VSO is going to provide more "help." Your Congressman can help you navigate if you are running into "roadblocks."
Basically, if something feels "fishy" talk to Congress, but if it's administrative, a VSO tends to be the better option. They're going to be able to help you fix things with your package, while Sen/Rep helps you find out why someone is lying to you on the phone or something to that effect (package keeps getting lost, dates keep getting shifted).

I recommend you contact one of your Senators or your Congressman to help you SGT Rick Ash. Be prepared to provide them details including correspondence from the VA and doctors evaluations.
Years ago when VA stonewalled me even after I had been initially rated at 70% service-connected disabilities, it took direct communication from my Congressman to get things moving at VA.

Thanks Sir. I do have all correspondence scanned or in email so it will be easy to send. Senators Mitch McDonnell and Rand Paul are the KY Senators which I'm sure you know. They are both vocal and NOT camera shy. Rand and I have spoken many times and we email most weeks. ( He was at the Kick-Off of our first ever Tea Party meeting for Lewis County )
Not to bore you with details but my first claim was denied because the NAVY said I was not exposed to ionizing radiation. I was ARMY. 2nd denial was rejected because the AIR FORCE said I was not exposed to ionizing radiation. ARMY 73-79....
Typical VA behavior. Rabbi Matlow (RP Member) and I spoke, he worked at the VA 4 years. He said the hope is that the veteran will go away or die. I won't go away but I could die. 7 surgeries so far as I had pancreatic cancer and two subsequent tumors. I was clinically diabetic the moment they cut off over half of my pancreas, the head portion. After 6 months of nasty chemo I have 100% neuropathy in both hands and feet. My SVC OFC and regional rep are both civilians, neither is a vet. ( IMHO, all VA employees should be vets) I developed pancreatic cancer at 50, avg. age is late 60's. I have letters from my PCP and Oncologist stating I am 100% Disabled, was awarded SSDI in 2 months so why doesn't the VA help me? I have been yelled at over the phone and told by my SO that my last bulleted summary email was irrelevant?!
I am now being asked to complete a NOD (Notice of Disagreement) which is another delay tactic. LCDR (Ret) Rabbi Matlow, advised me to start the NOD w/ "The VA and KVDA have committed a serious and egregious error"
I was an Improved Hawk (CW) Missile System Tech & Foreman on the HIPIR radar. I laid on waveguide tubing loosened by instructors at the [sic] then year long school for MOS 24K20. My abdomen was flooded with "ionizing radiation" then, a year in S. Korea, a year back at RSA, AL as an instructor and 7 months at Ft. Bliss. I was moved to a 98D30 MOS, CID Forensic Chemist by the 21st Repo Depot in Frankfurt, Germany due to my BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Plainclothes and great work environment. Apologies for the litany and if you read this far, Thank You. I just discovered RP in March and love it.
Again, Thanks.
