I just had the appointment and with claims, the brown envelope usually arrives inside of 8 weeks from date of appointments, from my experience. How long is it for appeals? I listed symptoms for hypothyroidism at the 10, 30 and 60% levels and all 3 nerves are damaged in my right arm from shoulder to fingers. Each section of each nerve and each section of the arm has an individual rating.

It can take up to 4 weeks after the exams to get results from the exam and another 4 weeks to get a decision from the appeal department

Thanks, worst part of the wait is I am out of work and there is a hiring freeze state wide in Texas. I learned that from a District Manager from the local Community college. I had just turned in a resume to the City of Houston via my VA Vocation rehab contact. I am in school at WGU currently but my GI Bill benefits end this month.

The back pay will help but yes waiting is the worst. Who is handling your claim? If it's DAV you can check with your regional office in about 2 weeks to see what is going onPO2 Michael Henry -

I have a lawyer who specializes in VA Disability in AZ. I originally went through the Phoenix VA of all places because I was hired by Intel in Chandler, AZ. The Phoenix VA was trouble from the word go and I had no idea how bad I was due to the mental fog thanks to the Navy not catching a clearly obvious thyroid issue. I was in the ER for symptoms of it too. Diagnosed as dehydration, at 7am? My outside PCP caught it 2 years after I got out, 3 years after the Navy lab report. She ran a lab on my blood and there it was... i showed her the Navy lab after requesting all reports from the hospital because they didn't show up in my medical records. Needless to say, she was pissed off when she saw it and wrote a statement backing me up. The VA still said no even though the Navy was using the wrong standards. I had a Free T4 of .86 and the Navy still said it was normal, .79 was their threshold. Every lab since shows .89 as the lowest threshold, even then it's still too low.

Thankfully I have 2 auto accident claims that have paid out already, in which I am still sitting on for now. I can hold out for a few months if need to, but need to find work anyway.

That I have no problem with... I can be incredibly annoying when I want to be.

It's not annoying, it is making sure you are taking care of you- there is nothing wrong with that.

My first one went in Sept 2015, second was March 2016. Since the 3rd party appointment came in about 1-2 weeks ago, I have no clue when any decision will come in. They did a C & P appointment for other parts of my first claim in November/December 2016 with a decision in January 2017. the same day my contract job ended. It came back with a zero increase.

PO2 Michael Henry - It's a long and bumpy road to get the benefits we earned. I've been in the system since 1992 playing their game.

I have no problem fighting it, I am just hoping I can find work right now so I can take my mind off of it.
