I just got orders to go to 18th Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg. Does this mean I will go to 82nd?

The only other two units 18th Corps has at Bragg are an ENG and FA unit. My MOS is 35G. So im guessing 82nd special troops?

Here are all the units that fall under 18th ABN Corps. A 35 CMF Soldier can go to a S-2 in any battalion or above.

Congratulations, as others have stated you can be in numerous units. That being said if your going Airborne or volunteer to go you may get to serve in the 82ND.

You will be assigned where needed. Just remember don't ever walk on Ardennes Street during PT, walk on the sidewalk..and be able to run 4 miles in 36 minutes or less..good luck..

Put the UIC on your orders into FMSweb, or google it for that matter. Generally if it says 18th ABC, though not always the case, then that's where your going. there's more than just 82nd, and the engineers too.

The 101st was also part of 18th Airborne Corps although not collocated at Bragg as mentioned above.

There are a number of smaller subordinate units that report up to the Corps headquarters. It's possible that you or being directly assigned to the Headquarters and not one of the subordinate units.

If you were going to the 82nd, your orders should be specific in that regard.

You'll go one of two places 82nd Replacement Detatchment for assignment somewhere in 82nd ABN DIV ... or ... 19th Rep Det for assignment to any XVIII ABC separate and that could be anywhere as said before BN or higher assignments. That could be AVN, MP, MI, SF etc

I was in the 18th almost 30 years ago and I was in 44th Med under 1st Coscom under 18th , so I wouldn't think so .

Hope you like to run. That's a pretty big deal there. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays was our running days while I was there. As for Tuesdays and Thursdays those were muscle failure days. But keep your head up and be in the right place, right time, and right uniform and you should be good. If you have any questions you can message me and I'll do my best to help you out
