I just PCS from Germany to JBLM. I have a German fiancée still in Germany. What do I have to do to speed up the paperwork process?

So my concerns are, what kind of paperwork do I need to do so I can get BAH and off- post housing? Can I continue to do this process when she is still in Germany and I’m in JBLM? Just my main concerns are making the marriage official so she can fly out to me during all the Travel restrictions.

The military does not recognize "fiancee status" so nothing happens until you are legally married.
Speak with Personnel; they've dealt with all this before

If you wanted to get married you should have done it in Germany. Fiancé has no status in the military. Getting a visitor or fiancé visa is likely not happening at this point. There is nothing you can do in that regard. She can apply for a visa in either status, but again it will be approved or disapproved based on the current environment. You will need to be patient.

You will NOT be eligible for BAH w/dependent rate until you have an AUTHORIZED dependent (spouse or child). You will need a valid marriage certificate in DEERS.

Off post living depends on unit/installation policy and barracks availability.

You need to go to https://www.uscis.gov and fill out either fiancee visa paperwork or go back to Germany, marry her, and do the spouse paperwork. She is not setting foot in the US for at least six months and you will not get anything in BAH or Tricare for her until married. Read the instructions and do the form line by line and it is easy. You are looking at about $1000 currently for a fiancée visa plus any costs in Germany. Probably closer to $1250-$1500. If you are thorough, the process is easy and don't get a lawyer. All of my forms were first time go and my wife is a US Citizen now.

The first thing you'll need to do is get married. You will not receive any entitlements for fiance's. No military branch recognizes the fiance status.

Married a German girl in 1982 (divorced her in 2000). Took the marriage license to the Frankfurt Embassy, got her visa (after 3 trips) in bout three months and took every thing to personnel and she was added to my PCS orders. Things may have changed since then, so talk to the closest Embassy to you and to personnel.

Why were these concerns not addressed to your former unit prior to departure? I agree with everyone else that have posted their remarks. Well since you're already in JBLM, you can voice your concerns inprocessing post. Good luck
