I just lost my dad and may have accidentally thrown out the paperwork that I needed to let them know I was still marry. Who or how can I take care of this?

I would recommend checking ebenefits.gov and see if your info is correct. You can verify percentages and all listed dependents. It also allows you to submit a claim to add dependents if needed. You can verify everything pretty quick.

If you have to provide the VA with documentation to show you are married, you can request a copy of the marriage certificate from the State or County where you applied for your marriage license.

Paperwork is a nebulous term. What paperwork are you talking about? You can go on to eBenefits and get all the documentation you have provided the VA including your benefits letters.

Your marital status only matters if there is a benefit that applies that factor: example caretaker compensation.

I would think the State Dept. Of Vital Records would help, but if not so Call the Security Sdministrstion And Ask them to set you in the right direction
