I just returned from a deployment in March, and another has unit given me orders to deploy in May. Do I have a legitimate IG complaint?

My problem is career advancement, I've deployed every other year and can't attend the NCOES required due to the deployments. I was in the middle of a transfer to a training unit, which was denied because of the deployment which will be my 4th in 8 years.

Between March and May you should be able to go to the NCOES you need. Is it a scheduling problem or something else? As far as a 1:1 deployment cycle, it's hit and miss. You only have a legitimate IG complaint if you are going to have a prejudicial look on a promotion board coming up or if you are in danger of being demoted or not promoted based on the lack of NCOES. You can always file one, but it won't do anything but cause paperwork if it's not founded in regulation requirements.

I believe there is a 9 month grace period before you can redeploy so I don’t think so...

It's not a scheduling conflict, the gaining unit isn't sending anyone prior to the deployment and the unit i just returned with botched 99% of NCOES's scheduled prior to us leaving theater.

SSG SSG Private RallyPoint Member there's probably several avenues you should explore before going to the IG. The IG is mostly interested in fraud, waste, and abuse. If the units involved followed Army and DoD directives and applied them without prejudice, then you won't get far with an IG complaint. I recommend you talk with your first sergeant or CSM immediately. If the senior NCOs don't help, then try the officers in your Chain of Command. There are probably Army policies about how often a Reserve Component soldier can be deployed involuntarily. Know the rules before you complain too much.

Hey SSG Kisslinger been a long time it's Matsu!! You should have only a year without deploying unless your MOS is mission critical. But I believe if you just returned they can't unless you sign a waiver saying you want to.

you are mandated 18 month dwell time. if you are cross leveled you would have to accept orders. Have your ATRRS operator register you into a class, then the unit has to address the issue

Yeah, you have a legitimate complaint. Stand down is three months, then three months work ups before deployment. At a minimum.

Are you Active, Guard or reserve. I know if you are guard, you have to waive your dwell to be able to deploy so soon. I am in the same boat, I was in theater for 22 months(by my choice), but I earned me about 7 years of dwell time in total. O will not deploy ever again. I have completed 7 deployments in 18 years and I ETS In 6 months
