A motivational tool used by Basic and AIT "leaders" that are struggling at leading and motivation so they resort to bribing Soldiers with a "Pizza Party" to do what is required of them.

I heard of such things when I was a Drill Sergeant at Jackson, but not in my unit.

It depends on what level you are hearing about said "pizza party". If it's coming from an NCO or officer it's probably nothing good. If it's coming from junior enlisted it's probably happening somewhere but no-one above E4 will probably be invited. (I know E4 is an NCO rank in other branches but let's be real, they're still junior enlisted enough to fit in with the shammers.)

That poor private whose mother thinks he gets a Combat patch because he is her little snowflake! A combat patch is earned, as I am sure the CSM informed the mother. It has to do with seeing the man you just knifed laying crying in his blood and vomit, while you try not to be so nauseated yourself. Pizza party: That young private will be able to do 1,000 pushups a day, because he will have had lots of practice . . . and, Mommy dear, he will receive the recognition he deserves. He will be known by the entire battalion as the best man for the job: cleaning porcelain toilets, digging slit latrines and sanitizing them as well. He will have a lot of experience at those duties . . . and be recognized for it!

I was told by our drill sergeant in 1988 that he will handle any and all disciple problems and that he would personally see that anyone performing a blanket party would find themselves in jail. I did not disagree with this "new" way of thinking. I do not believe that he produced any soft soldiers either. (yes, I was active Army for six years - look at my profile :-) and "hooah!")

I went through Marine Corps Boot Camp Aug-Nov 1979..The only party we had was a "blanket party" for the sick, lame and lazy!!!!!

A 'Pizza Party' is when you have an individual or group that required some 'incentive training' e.g. not doing the correct task and are 'incentivized' to correct the behavior by means of P.T. to the point of relieving their stomachs of all it's contents on the deck, making it look like a pizza with all the toppings. I think I saw a video of this online. Isnt it when a guy shows up to an all women party with a pizza that's missing sausage and the girls get upset cuz they wanted sausage? So he obliges them with his sausage.
