I'm of the opinion that the different duty uniforms are stupid. The Army, Airforce and Marines should all be wearing the same uniform. If an update to the uniform needs to be made then it would stand to reason that the need exists for all branches. The BDU and DCU was the same for all services until the war on terror. We're all on the same team and the Marines, Army, Air force and Navy spending millions to develop different camouflage patterns is a stupid waste of money and childish.

Agreed the Navy needs coveralls for shipboard wear and the rest can be done with one set of cammies. Other than that I don't see why we have to pretend we are office workers with all these 'service uniforms' and extra dead wight. Dress uniform and working uniform period. If they need coveralls for the squadron or for shipboard that is a simple and minimal investment.

I think different camo uniforms are a sense of pride and branch distinction. i think we should have different uniforms BUT we dont need to change themm every 5-10 years, like how the army went from BDU, to gray ACU, to multicam, to OCP

Makes no sense to me. Fall in the water wearing blue camouflage, who can see you?

PV2 J M I am not sure I like the name cammies. I served from 1968 to 1972, and we wore green utility uniforms stateside. In Vietnam, we wore jungle fatigues.

Sgt Theodore ( Ted) M. Hallock -Loved those jungle fatigues and the jungle boots too,Ted we even tried to have them issued as instructor uniforms later on at Ft.Polk but of course the Army said no way, would have loved to have them in the swamps of Louisiana, snuck a pair of jungle boots on anyway

SGT Philip Roncari - I agree Phillip. The boots were great for the wet environment that we were in.
