I’m flying soon to BCT and AIT to become a medic in the Reserves. Do you guys have any advice? What character traits should I pursue?

I’m flying Thursday morning to BCT and then 68w AIT to become a medic in the reserves.
Do you guys have any advice?
Character traits to pursue?
I want the soldiers I work with to feel comfortable and secure having me.

Give it your all every single day of BCT and AIT. Each task and assignment done exceptionally well makes you a good soldier and an even better medic. Take it one step at a time. If you give it your all, the rest takes care of itself. Good luck!

Get focused, listen and be motivated. Study when you can, sleep when you can and try to enjoy yourself in the meantime. Training can be stressful so don't let it get the best of you and confide with your battle buddies to give you the support needed.

You only need to know one thing: you are all part of a team. Let go of pride, ego, and all preconceptions. That's what will get you through BCT.

Remain humble. Do as your told, the DS are telling you for a reason. Be in the right uniform, at the right time, at the right place.
As far as 68W. phase one will be difficult. EMT is no joke. STUDY! Use quizlet to help you through the Mods. Study, study, study!!! Phase 2 and 3 are tons of fun, you just gotta get that EMT first.

Do things for your battle buddies, and think about them before yourself. You will soon learn that your are a member of a team and part of one of the greatest teams in the world, and being a medic is one of the best things in the world. The skills you aquire during this training can save lives and bring brave men and women home, take it seriously, focus on whats important instead of going off and having fun instead of studying your notes and lessons. Know your job, learn your men, and train with them. Because after all you will be a soldier first!!

Always be the one willing to help their battle buddy, put them before yourself. You will be known as a good soldier if you do this and form good relationships. Don't worry about basic. AIT, be a sponge. Don't just study to pass the tests. Absorb as much as you can. Don't pass with 70s. Study hard. This knowledge is going to stay with you for the rest of your career, and carry on to your casualties. Don't be known as a dumbass. Apply yourself and learn as much as possible. And in San Antonio, go to LuLus and order the three pound cinnamon roll. When things get tough in basic, think about the cinnamon roll.
