I'm getting an admin separation, but they said I could still reenlist after a couple months. Is this bad?

is this a honorable discharge? should I be worried about transitioning back into civilian life?, is that going to look bad in my record? and would I still get benefits? im really worried

Your discharge will be characterized and presented to you. Since SGM Erik Marquez hasn't chimed in, get off RP and go to JAG.....TDS.

Look at Chapter 4 of AR601-210 that covers enlistments.
Look at AR635-200 Active Duty Enlisted Administrative Separations. Find your chapter and read. Also look at the process. None of this is hidden or privileged information.
If it is medical, look at 635-40.
If this is an IET separation, look at 635-200.

Anytime you are being separated and it is not in conjunction with your ETS, it ain't great. It depends on characterization of your discharge. There are some circumstances where a general discharge may be converted to an honorable through an appeal process after 6 months. Hence why it is important to see TDS and find that out as it applies to your exact situation.

If you get a discharge from one service because of health fitness you shouldn’t think there is a realistic chance of getting picked up by another component are slim to none. Who ever told you you could is just ignorant. The Reserves have the same enlistment requirements as active duty. Everyone goes to one of three lines at MEPS. Army, Navy, Air Force. The three military departments. If you are suffering from depression the only ones to take you is the VA.

It’s not bad if you get an honorable but just because you get an honorable don’t mean you are fit for duty and you can enlist. You got to look at your separation code and your recode! Also if them codes are waiverable! You won’t get benefits cause you will be out!

PVT Ramon Negron. Like LTC Jason Mackay states consult with your TDS Attorney. Don’t take the separation process lightly and run away barrack lawyers. Again, it is imperative for you to consult with your assigned TDS!!!!!!

If you have MDD and you are being separated for that condition, there are a lot of factors involved and you should definitely be working with JAG. If I'm not mistaken, you will need to be stable with your medications for at least a year before you could even potentially enlist again. Good luck.
