Good morning . I have a quick question. I’m in Med hold for a scare that on my upper butt cheek. My parents have gotten a black mole which is not cancerous removed when I was 5. It been 19 years and over the years it stretch as I grew . It about 1inch in a half long . Anyways I need to know how long this med hold going to take ?

The med hold is as long as it takes for results to come back as negative. Did you disclose the scar on your MEPS paperwork?

Like I told the meps I don’t look at my butt . I don’t see a reason why a male should look at his butt in the mirror.. When the examiner told me to look I barely even noticed it in the mirror. So I don’t understand why I’m on hold for it SGT Javier Silva

Chris Judo - Because it is a medical issue. You - your parents - had a mole removed. You didn't disclose it. When they found it, and you mentioned it was a mole that was removed (so at some point you knew you had a scar), they made the decision to put a hold on it. Your blood work should come back clean. Have you gotten the statement from your parents yet?

Yes I have gotten the statement from my parents and gave it to my recruiter 3 days ago SGT Javier Silva

Chris Judo - Now you'll understand why plenty of us in the service pretty much say, "Hurry up and wait."

Honestly not a big deal- shouldn’t take more than 72hrs for the doc to review the statement from your parents.
And don’t feel bad about not mentioning it as long as it was an honest overlooking. I have a scar that goes from ear to ear on my head. I never mentioned it or the surgery that caused it to my recruiter- simply because it had been there my whole life and wasn’t something I think about because it’s covered with hair so out of sight out of mind kind of thing. When I was at MEPS some question was worded in such a fashion that I had an “Ah-Ha” moment and disclosed it. And in fairness I was 17 at the time so my parents had to sign the paperwork and they didn’t think of it either.
