I'm looking for a solid power point to assist with an IED class I'll be giving. Does anyone have one they don't mind sharing with my unit?

It's definitely always good to check out the TM/FM etc. first to familiarize yourself with the technical knowledge etc.

Go to the CALL website, there are some good ones that are pretty current there.

Funny story: last time I received C-IED training for 1st Army, one of the slides featured a picture I took of a 122mm shell disguised as a piece of curb. That made for an interesting conversation.
Don't do this at home. I was WAY to close when I took the picture.

I am not really a fan of reusing powerpoints. What I will say is how to use them to build on your knowledge. When I have taught classes you really have to make it your own. You have to develop them the best way you with the current TTPs for the region that is applicable to your reason requiring the class. It makes no sense to focus on TTPs in Iraq that were used in 2007 when you are going to Kuwait. The time and region are wrong. But you have to use what you can find to build your own lesson plan. This way you will teach yourself the material you will be using as a guide. Whatever you just don't recycle a pre-made powerpoint. This is the one time sustainability and environmental concerns should have not value.

Get into contact wit your local EOD shop and see if they have a SSG OR SFC to maybe help you out together a fresh power point using current ttp's.

Good on you for reaching out to seek outside help. I commend you for it. However;

Your unit SOP may differ from another's, and may even differ from the Book answer. While ID procedure is usually the same, response may not be. I would get with your leadership or your training room to find out what your SOP is and build your own PowerPoint based off of that.

Option 2 is to simply not use PowerPoint, and come up with another way of doing your briefing. While PP is a wonderful tool, it gets old and tiresome, and it helps to shake things up. Maybe run a METT-TC course with mock IED's set up, after giving a briefing off of an easel (the way you would do a refresher course in the field).

I hope you got what you were looking for and that I'm not to late in commenting but giving and IED class via PowerPoint can be dry as hell and even though it's maybe one of the most important classes we could receive people still lose interest. Attempt if you can to pull on the lessons and apply it to real and likely scenarios those in your unit might find themselves in.
