I’m prior service and going back active. I don’t have any uniforms. No need to pay anything out of pocket. Your recruiter should be telling you everything you need to know, if not ask them. When you get to replacement, they should be tracking you need an initial issue. It takes a little time but you’ll end up getting an appointment to go get all your uniforms at Clothing Sales. You arrive there in civvies and report. Then your personnel will take care of you from getting your CAC card, to pay to getting uniforms re-issued to TA-50. Simple as that. Do not worry about getting them before you get there, as you might lose some of it. You will get them when you arrive at your new unit. Now, how soon you get them is a coin toss; had a guy who didn’t get uniforms until about a month and a half with the unit, so he was actually authorized to come to work in civilians. But yes the unit will eventually provide when they work the budget out for it. There you will be issued a full set of uniforms. You will be there about a month or so processing, so you don't have much to worry about. That was my experience. As before show up looking like Joe blow off the street and they’ll get you hooked up with uniforms. If going to a reserve unit, may take a drill or two to get your uniforms so wear business casual.
