I'm being medically chaptered for a trigger point in my back that medication and treatment hasn't helped. My provider told me he won't extend my profile as nothing else has helped me.
My unit is tracking my situation and has initiated the chapter process but since I don't have a profile in dtms they are forcing me to do an acft even though they know I will fail.
Is there anything I can do?

Yes, you can take the ACFT and fail it.
It's a practice test until March 2022.

MSgt (Join to see) - Covered that above.
IF his PCM was concerned the young CPL could further injure himself, the PCM would have continued the profile.
And I advised that if the young CPL personally felt this was an injury that could be further exacerbated by PRT, then he should seek a second opinion from another PCM to determine whether or not he should still have a profile.

SGM (Join to see) - agreed. But I do not agree that if he was contesting the PT test because he had issues, the PT test should not have been administered until he was cleared by medial and appeals by JAG.

MSgt (Join to see) - If JAG nor the MED team turned him down he had options to go to an outside source for a different opinion. and the redo the JAG case if so warranted.

MSgt (Join to see) - You don't have to agree with him. The fact is that the Army wants everyone who isn't on a temporary profile that prohibits them from taking it to take one.

All he basically has to do is show up. Literally that's it. He can just not do one or all of the events which he gets a zero in. They just want numbers for the study as the SGM said. And if he doesn't have a profile prohibiting him, he has to show up for it and take what he can.

So I agree with the SGM if he feels he will make his injury worse go get a second opinion. But as long as he doesn't have a temp profile or perm profile that says he can't do x, y, z event, he will have to take it.

It doesn't matter if you don't pass. They just need to put in DTMS that people are taking it. They aren't even showing scores in DTMS, as far as I've been told. It just shows that you took one.

So do what you can do. If you can't do something, oh well. It 100% doesn't matter if you pass or fail at this point. It's all just gathering information.

To be specific, they need a score from everyone for the Rand study for Congress.
In DTMS, the score doesn't show with the name, only the test date.
The score only shows with the unit name, M or F, and pay grade.

SGM (Join to see) - I wont give you a thumbs down, but still think he should not have to take the test especially since its a practice kind of test. that is just stupid in my opinion.

Do the AFCT, but only to the limits you set for yourself so you do not aggravate whatever the condition is that you have. You should also be consulting with the VA to get a rating before you get out which provides far better educational benefits than the GI Bill. One of my sons was seriously injured on both his last two tours, and back surgery made it worse. His VA Rating got him FULL tuition, books AND quarters allowance and the equivelent of his pay as a SSG.
With enough credits for an Associates through the Army, he went into a university as a Junior and graduated with both a BS and an MBA in 3 years time. He now works for U.S. Treasury as a Bank Examiner. So the VA Rating NOW, is something you should look into!
