I'm supposed to go to Korea for my first duty station. Should I try to switch (I'm still at Fort Eustis for 15T AIT)?

My first duty station was Korea. It was by far the best assignment I had, much better than Fort Hood. I actually had a real world mission as a medic where in Texas I generally did make work or the occasional dog and pony show.

Hey man I’m also a 15T , been in fort Carson ever since AIT but I hear a lot of good things about Korea. It’s a great assignment. You’ll most likely PCS out of there after a year.

Korea was my first duty assignment. No regrets. 52 weekends went by very fast.

I loved korea I was on an occupation orders for right after the last north korean president died. That was a fun time. If you can go to yongsung it's right in the middle of Seoul. Camp casey was ok but smaller then you have camp red cloud and camp carrol. Right outside the gate at yongsung, is E-ta-wan its like the Las Vegas Strip lots of fun.
Just make sure you read up on the unauthorised areas for soldiers and don't be a dumbass. Everyone there knows your military so don't forget your military bearing.
Don't be scared to go to Korea you will have a blast go don't think twice.

How can you switch? HRC decides where you are needed, and as a PV2- your chances of dealing with your Branch NCO is slim to none- unless you have some mighty convincing problems need to be solved CONUS.
