I need to drive a humvee, and I was told that there is a training that I have to take. Where can I take this training?

It’s called drivers training academy. Your master driver holds the course. It’s about a two week course. Upon completion they’ll do the paperwork for your license to drive the trucks you have and humvees

NOrmally the Bn Motor SGT, or the BN SPT PSG can do it, but it varies from Post to Post. CHeck with BN.

Ask whomever assigned you to drive the Hummv to send you to an appropriate class. AND - learn about the vehicle’s stability! PLEASE DO NOT EVER CAUSE A HUMMV TO ROLL OVER!!!!!

My question would first be, who is making you drive a hummer especially if you are not licensed to drive it? You cannot drive any tactical vehicle without the proper license.

the Bn ran drivers tng. the classroom divided in 2, half that can drive stick, half that couldn't - a block of instruction on shifting the M35, some peculiarities, followed by "any questions" I raised my hand " do you need to double-clutch this truck" the Bn Motor Sgt asked 'what's double-clutch" all of my friends buried their head in their hands and moaned "we're doomed" , a SSG jumped on the stage, shoved the motor Sgt out of the way and said "in normal conditions no" with further explanations.

Every Company has a Master Driver Assigned, he is in your Company. Search him out and take the 40hr course. It is mandatory for licensing.

First, you should be talking to your team or squad leader about this as this is following your chain of command. There might be a reason why they have not assigned you to that particular piece of equipment and you owe it to them to not jump over their heads o figure out how to get what you want. Now, with that said, if you have asked and your whole chain of command has done nothing to help you with this, then I would go to the MP or your unit Master Driver; but, always start at the bottom of your chain of command.

Drivers Training. Your BN should have a BN master driver, who is in charge of setting up the course, course consists of in class instruction, hands on instruction, and of course road time. Once you pass the course, your CO will be able to sign off on a license.

If your command wants you to be able to operate a any type of wheeled vehicle they should have in a place a drivers training program. It most likely will not be taught in your unit, but they go thru the channels to get you in and licensed....

I gotta love young Soldiers.
Your first line leader has this answer, but it will be the same just about everywhere.
Your unit has a Master Driver, responsible for conducting Drivers Training. It consists of a 40 hour course, some hand's on PMCS, and behind the wheel. You may or may not have a section on Driving with a trailer or wearing NVGs.

Usually your motor pool ncoic has a master driver to help you pass test and send you in right direction per you post guide lines
