I plan to use my GI Bill to complete my Masters degree while still serving on active duty. Will I still receive the book stipend?

I know you likely have a specific preferred school you want to attend, but I figured it would be worth mentioning that AMU now offers graduate credit at the military TA rate of $250/credit, along with free books.

After reading a few articles, it appears that you will get the book stipend. The only thing you wouldn't get as active duty would be the Housing Stipend.

You should. The terms of the GI Bill aren't contingent on your status as a vet or SM.

I'd use TA. You get screwed out of BAH is you use I think now. Your op tempo will outrun the TA cap.

I finished mine last month. Yes you get a book stipend.

Some advice, make sure they aren’t paying bah if you’re active duty. I got hit with an overpayment because I didn’t realize they were.

I would advise against using any of your GI Bill while on active duty. The moment you tap into your GI Bill you will become ineligible for the Yellow Ribbon scholarship. Even if you don't intend to go higher than the Masters you are working on, it would be better to transfer the whole thing to a dependent who could use the Yellow Ribbon Scholarship. The Yellow Ribbon Program can be worth up to an additional $24k of tuition and fees.
