Every time the equal overseas list comes out I put in for Everything on the list including Korea and still no orders. I've been at Altus AFB for 2 and a half years. My AFASC just recently split into 2 AFSCs. I was 3D0X1(knowledge operations management). Now I am 3A1X1 because 3D0X1 split into 3D0X1 and 3A1X1.I can't put in for BOP because I haven't been selected for reenlistment yet. Is there a way to speed the process up of getting selected for Reenlistment? Does anybody know who I need to talk to or what I need to do to get orders overseas?

Sounds like you've got a couple of things going right now, complicated by your AFSC splitting; you're trying to PCS and re-enlist, and with the latter, it sounds like you're running up against the CJR.

Have you talked to your local Career Assistance Advisor? If not, I'd start there.

The assignment selection process isn't the most intuitive and I only just recently really learned how it worked. Looks like you understand it though; it comes out quarterly and when it does, you change your assignment preferences to match where on the list you'd like to go. There is a limited time though; you have about a week after the list is published before your preferences have to be updated. You should see your assignment come down within a month after the list closes.

The upcoming split could be playing havoc with the system though as they try to figure out who's going into what AFSC and where the allocations are. Again, your CAA might be able to answer that one, but your local functional (in this case, your squadron superintendent) should be able to help you with that.

Thanks Sir. I'm just trying to PCS, BOP is just one of the options everyone keeps telling me to try. But I can't. I still have 3 years left on my enlistment so until then I won't be selected for reenlistment which is the only thing stopping from doing BOP. I appreciate you taking the time out to answer my question.

So I talked to my superintendent. There's an number of things at play here.

1) You need 4 years time on station to be considered for a CONUS assignment.
2) You need 2 years time on station to be considered for an overseas assignment. This means you've really only been eligible to move for about 6 months or two cycles.
3) People with greater time on station are being picked up for assignments before you are. You can kind of circumvent this by volunteering for an extended long tour.
4) Look at the EQUAL Plus list often; it's updated every Monday. Those are the special duty assignments that might be available for you.
5) If you have the clearance, you might get with your superintendent and look into a "green door" assignment. Your superintendent will be able to tell you more about that.
