I have been selected to fill this position!I've been offered an Instructor position at the UK Infantry Battle School in Wales. I was in the running to be an exchange officer and I got rooked at the last minute. Was pretty pissed as I'd been brushing up on my English all that week. They'll put you up on post. You get TRICARE through the NIH in the U.K. All the exchange guys usually meet twice a year for a PT test. There is access to US support, but it is from the two AFBs there. Don't know proximity to you what that looks like.Response by LTC Jason Mackay made Mar 19 at 2020 5:06 PM2020-03-19T17:06:06-04:002020-03-19T17:06:06-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member5679307<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you don't take that, just start doing push ups right now.<br />Of course you want this assignment, and don't delay if you haven't already accepted.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 19 at 2020 6:05 PM2020-03-19T18:05:27-04:002020-03-19T18:05:27-04:00CAPT Kevin B.5680239<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When a plum is offered, humbly accept as the more knowledgeable folk have stated. A tour doing that will open up a big chunk of the world you never seen before. These types of things are rare. Either by dumb luck, inability to say no, or the bosses knew I'd handle a turd, I had interesting assignments. By far, Antarctica was the most rewarding. Alaska, Somalia, Cambodia, East Timor, and Ehime Maru recovery, were also tossed in during my career which included a "loan" to State. And of course the REMF types like to play Monday Morning Quarterback, but they'll never understand. BTW, the Brits call them TIPs: Tactically Insignificant Personnel.
