I was flagged for DUI and was told to start separation from the army, I was later told they gonna give me Gomor, what should I do as a Spc?

I was never in trouble, it was just a bad day. I came home drink three to four beers went to sleep and woke up took a shower and use mouthwash before bed. My friend called me that he need a ride cuz he can’t get uber on base. I was ok then I drove to pick him up but was pulled over for and had a .08. The cop put a lot of charges and lied I have an open container but went to court and was not charged for it and my case dropped. What going to happen when I receive the gomor? I just reenlist for Germany and they said they take it and maybe if I got retained I'll be sent to ft Polk or bliss how true is that?

You can still receive a GOMOR for making bad decisions, even if they weren't illegal. A GOMOR won't kick you out as a SPC but it will slow you don't from making SFC down the road. You can appeal the GOMOR but the appeal goes to the person who is writing it and they've made their decision.

If you haven't lost your assignment already then you'll go to Germany. If you have, then your commander will have to write a letter saying your flag was lifted and you were not at fault. If you get a GOMOR, that will not be the case. Your branch manager will decide what happens to you

Was it put in your permanent file? My advice to you is keep your head up and be a world class soldier for these reasons:

- You might need help from your COC.
- If you ETS you want to leave on a positive note.
- Being the best you can be is just the right thing to do.

I want you to read this. I have chaptered 3 soldiers in my career for DUIs. However, I personally took them under my wing to build them up because I wanted them to be strong and confident when they left the army. I told them they made a mistake but they hit a speed bump, not a brick wall. Keep your head up and know that life is still an open highway. I hope my post will set you straight.

IMMEDIATELY contact Trial Defense Services (TDS) if you have been noticed with any paperwork for administrative separation or for GOMOR.

Begin preparing your response in memorandum format, use AR 25-50 to assist in drafting it. Request that NCO's in your chain and other Soldiers who know your character prepare statements in mitigation and/or extenuation for your defense.

Show that you are willing to learn from this experience and show that the Civilian Courts have dropped charges.

You do not have to accept whatever punishment is thrown your way, you can RESPECTFULLY respond to it and explain what happened and what outcome you are looking for.
