Yes, Go to the VA, I was a motorman 1983 to 1987, they didn't do a hearing test upon ETS so I got 10% for hearing and 10% for ringing in my ears $ 327.99 a month but $ 6,000 hearing aids

Absolutely, if you have other medical injuries and a DD-214 showing honorable discharge. Too, any civilian medical records that back your concerns give you advantage

SPC Robert Coventry, Lets go back to the ringing in your ears. I was given 10% for 1 ear of hearing lost. My veteran co-workers and I have never heard of any compensation for ringing in the ears (tinnitus). One of them cannot get any compensation because he has no hearing lost, even though he has ringing. Do you have anything showing that the VA offers compensation for ringing in the ears?

Generally yes, since the hearing protection that was recommended back then was to put your fingers in your ear. Contact the VA representative and file. If it gets denied contact one of the Veterans organizations for advice and support.

As For Drinking Liquor In Panama, It's A Relatively Common Event And Not Thought Of As Amy Big Deal As It Is Here In The States; I Was 14 When I Began Going To Bars & Out On Dates .... . And One Of The DUMBEST Things Americans Say To The Authorities Is: ~~ " You Can't Do That To Me, I'm An America~~

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Not aiming at you, just pulling your chain. I went to a BBQ right outside of Athens a few years back, everyone was tasting. (term used by brothers) including kids. Cain was the choice of fuel used, reminded me of home.

Your hearing should have been tested as a part of your induction physical. Was your hearing tested subsequently, when you were still in the military? If you don't remember, check your medical records and see. I say this because my hearing had, in fact, been evaluated after I'd been in the army for a couple of years. Once I showed, in my application for compensation, that my hearing had dropped since my induction physical, I got a service-connected rating for bilateral hearing loss. I received not only "free" hearing aids- - - -they weren't and still aren't "free"- - - -but also a monetary compensation.
