Are you intending to fight it or is it the right answer? He’s going though the same thing. I don’t know what all is involved but he’s been holding down a chair in my building for six months, while the process plays out. So, I have to agree with SFC Wagner, prepare yourself for a long, drawn out process. Take notes. From that point on the current guidelines say you should be finished within six months. VA ratings is what holds up the final bit the longest. I cannot stress this enough, claim every ailment. Do not ignore anything. You are going to receive 2 percentages, one from the army, and one from VA. The one from the army will determine just your disqualifying condition(s), the one from VA will determine service connected, to include your disqualifying. I would take this time to start making plans for separation, and get things in order. You will have 6 to 9 months maximum, and can follow the process on your AKO account. Use this time wisely. I was bit embarrassed to ask on here but I appreciate y’all’s help. I just had no idea what to expect but now that I know I will have someone to work with through this process it makes me feel a bit at ease.lol Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 2 at 2021 11:37 AM 2021-02-02T11:37:41-05:00 2021-02-02T11:37:41-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 6715996

I'm currently going through the IDES process. Started August 2020. Be proactive and research VA DBQ for your ailments you are claiming. Every time you have the option to speak with legal, take it. Make sure at your appointments you tell them ever little tiny detail. Most of these civilians will not look in depth into your medical records so you need to get in depth with them. Your VA exams (C&P Exams) will most likely be through a company called QTC. When your PEBLO says they'll call you with your appointments, wait 48 hours and call QTC yourself.

Take the time now and register on the VA website, ebenefits and get your DS login set up so you can check tricare online on your phone. Your documents for everything will start uploading on there. When you see something populate, call your PEBLO because they tend to call you a few days after.

Do not try to speed it up. Take your time and make sure everything is documented properly. Good Luck.
