I was stationed at Malmstrom from 1986-1988. I was sexually harassed by the First Sargent I also had a back injury which continues to hurt. I was given Vicodin on several different occasions as well as sessions of traction and physical therapy. None of this is in my medical file. I continue to have issues with my lower spine to the point that the VA Neurosurgeon thinks the next surgery will be putting 2 rods and several screws to put my spine back in place and keep it there.
I also was sexually harrats by my First Sargant because he did not believe women should be law enforcement or security specialists. He kept pushing me to become his secretary. After I said no and got upset while working at a dispatcher he told he was going to put me in the building that held those that are being discharged. I was one of three women that were Law Enforcement officers. I took my situation to Flight officer, 1st Lieutenant which was also a women, she didn't know what to do about it because no one else witnessed the times that he made sexual harassment comments to me. I was discharged with General under Honorable conditions.
I believe the discharge should be changed to Honorable due to these conditions?

For the sexual harassment, if you never reported it and there's nothing that was ever filed, no investigation (which I realize was probably a rare thing back in the day) I don't think you'll have a case to change your discharge. They're going to want paperwork or proof and you don't have any. I'm very sorry that happened to you as I have experienced sexual harassment and sexual assault in my time in the Army (and I didn't report it because it wasn't taken seriously even in early 2000s).

You may have to talk to your PCM about getting those things in your medical file but it depends on where you were treated for those things. I would think that if you were given Vicodin that would have been noted somewhere at some point. Are you trying to get those things added to your file? Or what do you want to accomplish since your post isn't very clear on what you are asking for that.

I am asking for guidance on how to start getting disability pay from the VA/US Gov since my back injury started during my time while I was on active duty. No the paperwork that I received when I was discharged, doesn't have any of the times I was PCP'd or the different types of therapy and traction that I went through. Nor is there anything in any of the VA's computers. Back in 1986-88 I don't think they used them anyway.
So my question is again...What do I need to do to get my disability rating through the VA?

A1C Kenzie Sailors - If you don't have proof that it's service connected, I don't think you can get a disability rating. Anything I have ever heard about disability is having documentation for everything. Unfortunately if you don't have it, you may not be able to have it recognized.
