I was told I had a bonus, but what do I do if my unit can’t find my addendum in iPERMS?

I enlisted in December 2018 as a 25N for the national guard. I was eligible for a $20,000 bonus and was told I would get it after I became MOSQ...I never knew it was supposed to be in my contract and was told the information would be online. But now my NG unit says they can’t find my bonus addendum in my iperms...what do I do? The only thing I have are texts from my recruiter saying I still have a bonus

You will need your recruiter to provide documentation to validate the claim.

You received a copy of your contract when you enlisted. It’s your responsibility to maintain copies of important paperwork like contracts and mortgages. I hate to say it, but this might be a $20,000 mistake on your part.

Since it’s been less than two years the recruiting Brigade “should” have a copy of your contract.

Where is your contract you received at MEPS. Your addendum should be there. If you lost it “that’s a shame”.

You should have had a Battle Handoff with your unit admin and a member of the platoon you’d been assigned to to hand deliver all enlistment paperwork.

Your Accessions and strength manager at your unit should have put everything in the system.

Some good advise never lose your own paperwork dude. Make an “I love me” book.

Contact your recruiter or HRC and see if you can get a copy of your contract. If your bonus isn't indicated in your contract, you're not entitled to it.

Hate to tell you this, but if not in your contract then probably won't happen. Regardless it will be an uphill battle. You are suppose to be adult enough to understand what you are signing.

If you can't find a copy, if you don't have a copy of your contract, if no one can find any piece of paper showing 20K specially, then you just lost out on 20K

Where's your copy of the contract? If you don't have that then hate to say it, but you might be SOL. Your unit might keep digging and find it or they might ultimately give up, depends on the individuals. Your best bet if you don't have your full contract explaining your bonus is to get your recruiter to produce a copy of said contract. If that doesn't happen, again, you might be SOL.

I’m dealing with something similar.. I was told I would be receiving a bonus but I don’t see it in my contract.. what did you do ? Did it ever get solved ?
