Just waiting for that one piece of paper to make its way up and down the chain of command will take majority of your time and effort.That being said, I&#39;d wait until you&#39;re maybe a semester from graduation. I don&#39;t believe they can actually submit your packet until you have a degree. Some have other work to do and won&#39;t care until you&#39;re completely ready; others will work with you well before you&#39;re eligible to line up letters of reference, etc so that as soon as you -are- eligible, you can start officially. <br /><br />If it&#39;s something you know you&#39;re going for, there&#39;s no harm in contacting one and seeing if they&#39;ll work with you, guide you through the process, give you tips, etc. Just don&#39;t be surprised if you&#39;re not a priority.
