I can tell you from experience that you will need to dress seriously warm as it gets damn cold at Irwin in the winter.....especially at night when out in the field. Naturally, it is going to be uber hot in the summer. IMO, it was the best assignment I had in my career. 11th ACR has an extremely rich and proud history. Make the most of your time there. You are but a few hours drive in any direction to all kinds of fun stuff. ALLONS!! SORB can get you out of there after only 1 year time on station. You will be busy, and will go to the field occasionally. I'm the supply sergeant over at 2TC, 1916th SB. Hit me up if you need anything, I'm sure we'll have some transactions (L/T) to deal with eventually.
