They did far more for me than TAP, ACAP, Career GPS, or whatever they call it now. They helped with everything from resume writing (they pretty much wrote mine for me and it was far and away better than the garbage I left ACAP with) to interviewing to actively searching for jobs for me.
https://www.hireheroesusa.org

Home - Hire Heroes USA

Idaho military members, veterans and military spouses, you are invited to join Hire Heroes USA and Mission 43 for a FREE 2-day Veteran Employment Workshop, Feb. 21-22, 2017, at the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation in Boise. My retirement date was set for 30Sep16. My terminal leave was set for 12Jun. I got horror stories about being unemployed for a year or more. I started job hunting in Jan 2016. I got zero response on the first 8-10. Started to feel like I was worthless and destined for under employment in a field I have grown tired of. Then the clouds broke. I got a couple interviews. One of those turned into a good offer in something I was interested in. It was not my pie in the sky dream job but it is a good job, and a job worth doing. They like me and I like them. It was white knuckle the whole time. Reach out to USO 360 for help with your resume. Now that I am reviewing candidates, there are some terrible, ill suited resumes. Yikes, do they read before they send? Spelling stuff and making sure content is relevant is 100% free. Which was part (mainly it was family) of the decision making process to retire. I found that in the area that I relocated to (Southern Minnesota) my age (39) was way more in demand than people 15+ years younger than I was. I have been happily employed since the day I retired and looking forward to retirement again in a few more years. SFC Dennis A. Make your application and CV compatible with the job you desire. A lot of people had heard of Cobra pilots, but my task was to make them see how the requirements of that position applied to what they needed. As a matter of fact, I ended up becoming an operations manager in a large medical supply distribution company because I was able to apply the leadership and organizational traits used in the military to what the company needed.
