Ideal duty station for a family?

So I’m a 91B looking to re-enlist soon, my question is what would be a great duty station for my wife and I?We have a child on the way also.

Honestly it will depend on your family’s preference. Do you like the cold with snow. Do you like the heat? Each base has it ups and downs. I like Carson myself in Colorado.

I enjoyed 3rd Army in Atlanta, Georgia try to get Ft McPherson. plenty of things for the family to do, and not a hard assignment

Well you're making a big assumption if you could go anywhere, it might be better to review which posts/bases are reasonably available to you so you don't spin your wheels over all the choices that are out there. Personally, I'm always jealous of the families that get stationed overseas to Italy, Germany or even Puerto Rico.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member Any base, but like others have said some service members have ones like like more. I liked Fort Belvoir, as it was close to DC where I worked, but hated the traffic and we lived on the off post housing so it was pain to drive to the commissary and PX some times. Only thing good about Ft. Stewart was that it was close to Savannah and the beach. Other than that, I hated GA. But that was my preference.

The first thing to do would be to check out your options by visiting retention. We can all make suggestions based upon the locations that WE liked, however, these location may not be an option for you or your experience may not be the same as ours. Check out your options first, discuss it with your family and choose the one that best fit your family. Good luck to you...

All the places people don't want to go are usually good for families because everyone has to make friends with their neighbors because there's nothing else to do.
