Eventually, his remains were found along with the rifle and fixed bayonet. They claim he committed suicide. U.S. military officials took his remains to investigate.<br /><br />I do not have first hand knowledge of this. I did not know the veteran. I&#39;m friends with the family and recently heard this story. I wanted to see if this is normal protocol or not. <br /><br />Thank you, RallyPoint Members!

Simply for the reason being that it could be retaliation for any classified operations the individual may have been involved with. Of course that&#39;s assuming it wasn&#39;t a sanctioned hit to begin with. I&#39;m not a conspiracy theorist, but I know when someone announces they&#39;re writing a &quot;Tell-All&quot; book... accidents happen.
