If a National Gaurd Soldier is on title 10 can they be promoted by the active duty component?

I am just curious as to how this would work with the slot system in the National Gaurd.

No. You still fall under your regular component for Promotion.

Not normally, your promotions would still go through NG/State System. If there isn't a slot there isn't a promotion. if a slot opens up with in your state in your MOS and that grade, you can still be offered it, you just don't report till you get back from your title 10 tour. At least that is how it was before I retired.

No your promotions will come through your state.

No and I'm 100% confident. Similar but two totally different promotion systems. One is for just Army Guard and the other just for Active Army. You can be promoted on T10 even for a position back home but that will from the Guard.
