If a promotable soldier reclassifies, will they lose their "P" status? Or, does it all depend on the minimum requirements of the new MOS?

That's a very broad question. For instance, some career counselors reclass and make the E7 list as they finish and keep their P, while others don't. Most MOS's stipulate what ranks they will allow and only the proponent can grant a waiver.

SSG (Join to see) SMAPP for 25E ensures they will promote from E5 to E6. 25E won't accept a promotable E6
