That is, should we need to get involved right away... or would we sit back and play it out like before? http://www.inquisitr.com/1484957/vladimir-putin-threatens-world-war-3-says-russia-could-invade-europe-within-two-days/

PO2 Jeremy Spears. In WWIII none of us will be on the sidelines. I would most likely go back to primary care or disaster relief . . . to care for the few lucky enough to survive. Sandy

Are you sure it has not already started? The Middle East, Africa, Drug wars in South America, the US and Europe Bombing ISIS, and Russia and Ukraine.

This is true, but a bunch of small fires can merge into one big one.

As far as I am concerned . . . as long as conventional weapons predominate the conflict . . . and the bulk of our homeland is not threatened with near term capture and/or devastation . . . the traditional concept of WW-III cannot yet be invoked. However . . . when any nation delivers a nuclear, biological, or chemical strike . . . seriously threatening a significant part of our homeland . . . then WW-III is well upon us . . . and we all must become engaged . . .

As Albert Einstein wrote to Harry Truman . . . "I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

When the national territorial integrity of a major Nuclear, Biological, and/or Chemical Power is threatened . . . and they resort to weapons of mass destruction . . . we will be into WW-III.

So far we are only engaged in conventional brush wars managed by minor despotic powers.

Warmest Regards, Sandy

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD. I'm getting a little long in the tooth . . . my language is an artifact of my generation . . . I think more in terms of foreign governments either not in touch with their constituents . . . and / or small time foreign war lords . . . but you have a point about applicability of the term to recent actions of our own federal, state, and local governments . . . and some rather overarmed, threatening and overtly reactionary local police departments.

Warmest Regards, Sandy

Apparently I don't have to be as there will be plenty of illegal immigrants to fill in.

Yes, I'd be there in a homeland security role in a heartbeat

I'm about to leave the Army against my will (passed over because there are too many nurses). But I bet they'd call me back the instant WW3 happened and I'd gladly come back.

I am sorry about your current circumstances. I agree with Jeff. Take the opportunity to improve our plight, make better pay, and keep those skills sharp for WWIII. BTW IMO there can never be too many nurses, y'all improve care tremendously. Thank you.

1LT Salisbury, you're being hit with the RIF because there are too many nurses? Good gosh almighty what are they doing to our Armed Forces. You used to always here there were not enough nurses and doctors in the military to adequately take care of our troops and their families. This really ticks me off.
