If an SM received a FG Article 15, and was reduced from E-6 to E-5, can they appeal to have the E-6 restored on their DD214 if they were given an honorable discharge?

That's what I thought but this person swore up and down she had her rank restored after appealing it. Of course she never produced an updated copy of her DD214.

SSG Charlie Carlson you would have to apply to an Army Board of Corrections to have it changed. Plus the Corrections Board is only going to change the rank if it was supposed to be changed. You can't appeal an Article 15 after the appeal period is over. There are so many steps it would take to make that happen that it's not as simple as an appeal.

So this person claimed they were promoted back to E6 retroactively because they received an Honorable discharge? The only ocassion I have seen of something like this is a Marine I had was a Cpl and NJP'd for suspected DUI while the case was still pending. He was busted to E3 a week before he was supposed to pin on Sgt. He ended up EAS'ing a few months later. His DUI case was tossed shortly after because of a faulty breathalyzer that created a false positive. We were able to get not only his rank of Cpl restored but also his promotion to Sgt and all the back pay he missed along the way. This was a special case. Your story being told to you doesn't make much sense.
