If I am promotable, but haven’t done BLC, will I be promoted after I graduate from my reclass AIT or after my next unit sends me to BLC?

I am going to be reclassing soon to a 46S and I was approved for the SMAPP program in my reenlistment contract. I am promotable but haven’t done blc. Would I be promoted automatically after I graduate AIT or would I have to wait until my next unit sends me to BLC before I pin?

My guess is you will probably be promoted after AIT, but you still require BLC and SSD2/3 to be promoted to SSG. But its been awhile since I was Active and someone with more experience may have a better idea.

After you have BLC. If you get BLC completed prior to your AIT you will be promoted upon arrival at your unit. If not, you'll be promoted after BLC. You'll need to take a copy of your SMAPP approval memo to your S1 as your promotion authority source document

You’d have to complete blc 1st. You can do blc on line due to covid (or you could have) but you can’t do that as a MOS-T either unless your a holdover for some reason

You still need to make points for your MOS. Just having all the classes done doesn’t mean you get your strips. Check the HRC website and see where the points are at for your MOS. They could very well stay at 798 and you never get picked up. Since you haven’t officially passed the class for your new MOS you may get picked up at your old MOS if the points drop low enough to pick you up.

Yes, according to the new promotion policy that published. Soldier will have a certain amount time to complete PME before your are reverted back to your current grade.
