If I did a low cost move from one unit to another during my tour in Germany (3 years) would I be eligible for 2 overseas ribbons? I moved from Kaiserslautern to grafenwoehr from a medical unit to a mp unit.

As strange as it sounds, the answer to this question is Yes. It is because you served with two separate units. Verify with AR 614-30 and double check with your S-1. I had a soldier have this question recently so I had to do some of the research. Good luck to you.

Army Regulation 614–30, there are factors associated with certain LCM's that impact Award or not. LCM's are generally used to move Soldiers within their tour when otherwise not authorized. The LCM can be used anytime within the tour when one has a cetrtain amount of time remaining on the original tour. More often than not does not constitute an subsequent tour. Contact your current S-1, or read the regulations related.

Was this a PCS move? or just an internal move within the command with an extension (FSTE)? Normally we are awarded the overseas ribbon after the "completion" of the tour. Your internal unit move may not be the end of your tour. However, it may be a PCS move or IP/COT. It will depend on the orders.

Best if you take the orders to your S1 NCOIC/OIC and ask them.

PCS move to a completely different brigade but no FSTE was done due to me having enough time in Germany to not have to extend in theater.

If your orders say PCS as you stated, then you have completed your tour in Germany (OSR), and starting a new tour in Germany. It looks good from this angle.

When you get a chance take a look at Army Regulation 614–30, Table 3-1 which has the answer. It is more credible to reference the regulation than some retired guy like me on RP :)
Congrats your Germany assignment!

I had briefly looked over the reg earlier today and actually looked at that exact table and that's what lead me to post on the forum. The table I should of looked at was 3-2 which gave me the answer clear as day. I am only authorized two regardless of my LCM I only completed the required prescribed months for two tours instead of three. If it would of been a COT instead of a LCM then I would of been authorized three.
