Your best bet is to contact your local recruiting office. Thank you for your service.Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made May 6 at 2018 1:04 PM2018-05-06T13:04:02-04:002018-05-06T13:04:02-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member3604832<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As long as you are still in the IRR you will train your rank. If you go back into the same MOS and there is a need in that MOS for a Prior Service E5. In many cases prior service Soldiers re-enlist in new MOSs seeking a bonus or just looking for a change. In those cases you may have to drop a rank to be eligible to return to the line but quickly after training and reporting to your unit you are promoted back up. You’re local recruiter can explain all the different options and provide you with the best info to make the right decision moving forward. If you plan to go NG, see a NG recruiter and not a USAREC recruiter since they will know better how there specific state requirements are at the time. <br /><br />Good LuckResponse by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made May 6 at 2018 1:09 PM2018-05-06T13:09:28-04:002018-05-06T13:09:28-04:00SGM Bill Frazer3604992<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Normally the longer you are out, the lower in rank you come in as. You will go in as a E4 as far as I know. Went to AIT with a bunch of us being prior service and a few left the USMC as e5 and they got bumped down to SPCResponse by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made May 10 at 2018 2:33 PM2018-05-10T14:33:29-04:002018-05-10T14:33:29-04:002018-05-06T12:52:29-04:00
