If I go back active this year, will I still have my promotable status or will I be required to go back to a promotion board?

After getting off active duty last year I was a specialist promotable I had passed the board. I was promotable for about 6-7 months as my unit wanted me to re enlist to send me to BLC. I have been in the guard ever since.
If I go back active last this year will I still have my promotable status or will I be required to go back to a promotion board (Army 11B)?

Chances are you may end up needing to go back to the Promotion Board. No way to accurately predict this, but your chances of going back Active with your "P" are pretty slim. Because you will have a "break," plus your DOR, PEBD, and a few other things are going to get recalculated to a new date. And this is all on top of you possibly losing SPC and getting knocked down to PFC (this happens from time to time when NG/USAR folks go AD).

Correct me if wrong, but don't JR enlisted get their promotable status at the unit after going through a promotion board? If so, I would see the new unit wanting to do a board before they bless off on promotion.

I think you will have to go back before the Promotion Board due to the ‘break’ in Active Duty service...
