If I go to Fort Sam Houston to visit my wife while she is in AIT, will I be able to see her and spend time with her during the day? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-i-go-to-fort-sam-houston-to-visit-my-wife-while-she-is-in-ait-will-i-be-able-to-see-her-and-spend-time-with-her-during-the-day

I’m Navy, wife decided to go Army. I know her graduation date, as well as her projected start date for class in AIT (the following Monday). However, I was curious if I would be able to fly out around the same time she does and stay on base to see her while she is there, being I’m just coming off a deployment. When I was in A-school, I was allowed to walk around base, just couldn’t leave for the first few days. Some info online states she can’t leave “company areas” while others state she can’t leave base. Any help is appreciated. When I went in 2016 it could have been updated.

Phase 4 they can’t leave the Company AO even on weekends.

Phase 5 they can leave the company AO in civilians aslong as they stay on post. They can also go off post during certain times on the weekend but must be in there Class B uniform at all times.

Phase 5+ They can always be off post at any time when training is not being done. They can be in civilians as well but they still must meet the time hacks and be on post at night and go to formation.

At no time can they stay off the Company AO over night. While i was there you couldnt leave the company area till after the nremt phase/phase 4. After nremt you become phase 5 and are able to walk around base when released but have to be back by final formation. Alot of command changes have happened so this info might be outdated. After POI, perhaps...depending on which phase she is in. Best bet is to have her gather this info and relay it to you when she gets a definitive answer. She’s on active duty at an MOS school you can’t have time off to boogie with your spouse during the day. You have to wait until off duty hours if she gets those. Come on dude think about it. Do you think that would have happened when you went to your Sonar School. SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 14 Oct 2019 22:43:04 -0400 2019-10-14T22:43:04-04:00 2019-10-11T01:36:36-04:00
