If I had a speeding ticket to which I had a plea and abeyance for, will that affect my enlistment to the USMC?

Currently I’m a Poole in the Marine Core and we had a Poole function the other day where we did a IST and then had interviews. I told them all the same things I said at MEPS. According to my recruiters though the soldiers at meps didn’t record the fact I had a speeding ticket that I had a plea and abeyance for. I’m starting to get kinda worried that that will affect my enlistment, should I be worried or am I just panicking for no reason?

First of all you are trying to enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps not Core. I don’t really think having received. A speeding ticket will harm your reputation. Also we are Marines not soldiers. Good Luck.

If you are joining military police or military intelligence where you need to have a secret or higher clearance, then I would worry. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

If I were you, I would have a copy of those legal documents. You can always go to your S2 intelligence, background Officer and tell him you overlooked this. Hopefully, they will see you are being honest and that you made a mistake. What if they discovered this two months into boot camp and you found out that you we're about to graduate and they held you back over this?

The reason I said this is because I just recalled a female who was the oldest female in my training company. She was about my age and just before we were about to graduate, there was some legal action that was discovered against her and she did not graduate from my basic training battalion.

SrA Kevin Piatek
I got 2 speeding tickets while in it didn't effect anything except having a talk with my First Sergeant.

SrA Kevin Piatek that's good. I wasn't sure if the way he described the ticket was a misdemeanor like reckless driving. You are probably right. The are always picky or when you try to get in the military. They seem to be more flexible once you're already in it past basic training and AIT.
