<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes, you may. But I would suggest you to ask your Chain of Command to give you a ride until you are assigned a barrack room or get a vehicle if you live off post. It is very dangerous to walk though any gates with all the traffic.LTC Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 06 May 2016 12:02:28 -04002016-05-06T12:02:28-04:00Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 6 at 2016 12:23 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You certainly can on most bases walk straight up to the gate. Usually your CAC card will suffice as proper identification, but it's not a bad idea to have some other form of photo ID on you just to be on the safe side in case the guards ask for two forms. I know here at JBLM it's on a random check basis that they ask for it. Also, if you plan on going through the gate with a backpack or something like that, be prepared to have it searched by the guards. They frown on people walking up with baggage... for obvious reasons. Hope this helps you out a little better.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 06 May 2016 16:37:54 -04002016-05-06T16:37:54-04:00Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 6 at 2016 5:09 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just don't try that through the All American gate. <br />Seriously though, Bragg is the size of a small city, you need a car. You'll be walking an hour from the gate to reception. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Most significant bases I've been on have a Pedestrian Gate. No need to go thru the driving gate as long as you have your military ID I don't see a problem with it. I'm used to seeing long lines shipyard workers coming in thru pedestrian gates.PO1 William "Chip" NagelFri, 06 May 2016 22:27:23 -04002016-05-06T22:27:23-04:00Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made May 9 at 2016 4:42 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Absolutely NOT! All pedestrians who walk up to the installation will be seen as a threat and immediately eliminated. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sure. Don't know about Fort Bragg, but at MacDill AFB you can even ride a civilian bus on to the base. Bus stops at entrance and security goes on bus to check IDs; have seen people taken off the bus by security, assume they don't have IDs.Lt Col John (Jack) ChristensenFri, 03 Mar 2017 12:39:01 -05002017-03-03T12:39:01-05:002016-05-06T11:55:22-04:00
