If I have an approved DA 31 for Holiday Block leave, can my unit require me sign out only on a duty day?

I have an approved DA 31 for Holiday Block leave. I just got a call saying no one can now sign out on the day they were approved for and everyone has to wait until the next duty day to sign out. Can my unit do this?

Your commander can keep you from going on leave and have you come back after you have went on leave.

In every unit I was in, the 1SG had the CQ start a sign out sheet for 0001 the next day and the troops signed out on leave after last formation the day prior. Same-same for three day passes. Regular pass just sign out when you leave and in when you got back from town or wherever.

Short answer- Yes.
If it effects travel where you or your troops have purchased plane, rail or bus tickets that are not refundable you should notify your CoC and ask for an exception. Ran into this with short notice fillers for Panama and Somalia. Soldiers still went but the command was able to get them relief on the tickets.
