If I have issues with not being contacted by a sponsor for my next unit, is there someone I need to call or something I need to do?

Has anybody had issues with not being contacted by a sponsor for there next unit? I filled my i for out for my first PCS a month ago and still have not heard anything. Is there someone I need to call or something I need to do or do I just need to deal with it and CM?

I would try to find the training room number to your gaining unit or battalion staff duty. In my 20 years I did that a few times; due to the occasional field training, schools, or other issues your sponsor might encounter. It’s always a good idea to just contact your new units training room or battalion staff duty. Half the time if there is no contact with a sponsor; reception will always be there to take care of incoming soldiers

I didn’t get a hold of my sponsor until I walked into my new new company at Italy to repor in and he just happened to be the CQ NCO. They will link you up with him when you get there don’t sweat it. You are going to spend the first week our two inprocessing post anyways. And you won’t need him for that.

Actually, when I went to Ft. Campbell, I was in processing the installation for almost two weeks. So, I wouldn't sweat it too much... you'll just fine.

Do you have your orders yet? They may not have you on their manning roster yet as an Incoming Soldier. There should be a POC on your orders, I would call them if you really need too. If you know your Unit already call the Staff Duty Number or Contact the BN S1. Sometimes you go to a Post Level Inproccessing Station and may get routed to a different Unit based on Unit Strength or Pending Deployment. Sponsors sometimes don't know until the last moment that there is a New Soldier coming or they may be engaged in an FTX or other training.

At Kalsu they'll hook you up with a sponsor. The sponsor system is broken as hell currently and when I got out of AIT I had no idea where I was going until they told me when I got to Kalsu. (replacement, basically reception for the unit) I just asked the platoon sergeant there for a sponsor and they reached out to my unit for me. Don't sweat sponsorship.

If you’re coming to Campbell you’ll spend your first two weeks or so at the Kalsu Replacement Compny located on Desert Storm Avenue across from the LaPointe Soldier Clinic. Check in there and they will get you squared away with all your inprocessing of the installation. They will help you get in contact with your new unit but I wouldn’t sweat it until you finish your two weeks or so in-processing. Replacement Company: [login to see]

Never had a sponsor from a gaining unit and didn’t know unit I was going to until I was told “Stand here a truck will pick you up.” As a medic you may end up anywhere, unlike some guys who have a fair notion of what unit they will be assigned to. But as others have commented don’t sweat not having a sponsor, it makes the first days at a new unit an adventure “Where the /&:$ is the laundry room?”

Unless your transferring to MEDAC/MEDCOM or a FORCECOM medical unit, you're going to Division Replacement, then they'll find you a Battalion to call home. Sorry, but that's life; or at least that's the way I was treated for 16 years.

Big Army needs the contact to occur otherwise they do not cut the orders. There is a form that has to be submitted for this.
